Thanks Mikeksafrmer!! I was coming in here just to ask about the Gardner sale on Saturday. Do you know how much "and more" they have at these sales? I'm not interested in buying more birds, but a friend and I might come down to see what other chicken stuff they have to sell. I'd sure love to see someone selling DE there. I can't find it anywhere!! I may have to order online, but would prefer not to have to.

I wonder if it's the L-bar-C Ranch that used to be Timberlake Ranch. I know that Timber Lake Ranch (or maybe it's camp) is a Methodist Camp out west of Ottawa. As I understand it it used to be a Girl Scout Camp. The place that was a bar at night is a whole different location. I could be wrong, but I don't think so. Timber Lake Ranch is a great place for retreats and family reunions. Our church is having an all day retreat there in November. It's beautiful!!

If you ever get to Topeka, Premier Farm Supply on south Topeka (way south just past the Tractor Supply) has it for $30 or so for 50 lbs. They are at 900 SW University Blvd, Topeka - (785) 862-2505

If you call, they will give you directions, it is buried off the beaten path.

I am sure glad someone answered that for you. I have no clue what DH is. I know they have a fair amount of supplies for pets as well as poultry. I am not going to buy birds either. I do want to look at supplies, and maybe see some people from BYC.

I'd heard of Diatomaceous Earth but didn't really know what it is until I joined BYC. After doing quite a bit of reading I have decided to give it a try. Just can't find it locally. I'd be willing to drive to Topeka for a #50 bag at a good price, but would sure rather find it closer. No one at our co-op or Orscheln store knows what it is. Earl May in Lawrence has it but food grade? they didn't know about that. And it's $13 for 4 pounds. EEK!!

Here's a link to get info on DE.
