Consolidated Kansas

LOL on the clutch!

I'm not too fond of pink, but I have thought of painting all my tools one color. I have a favorite hammer. It kept walking off all by itself. I put my name on it with a magic marker

Next time I found it my name had a circle around it with a line through it! He wrote his name on the other side! I rubbed that clear off. It kind of goes back and forth like that here. We have a lot of fun.

Well I'm sure I should leave the boasting to my Wife but.. I can’t help but be happy to have her in my life. She beats me 4 to 1 on pushups and sit-ups. (but I can out run her) She has 4 degrees under her belt (to my none) and hair to her crack but she is the first in line to help me lift the 250lb tires onto my jeep when I’m not able to get them myself. She has never been good under the hood but can clean up a bloody mess without a single thought. Sometimes I get dizzy thinking about what she does/sees in the Air Force and as a nurse. I'm so happy to have her in my life. Its ladies like her that keep men like me doing things we never could.

CK-You are lucky to have each other. I'm really happy to read about couples who appreciate each other, rather than bad mouth each other. I hear so much of that at work, and have vowed to never slip into that negative mindset.

P.S- I used to lift the heavy stuff, but being 55 years old with arthritic knees has taken a bit of a toll on my physical strength. I'd put myself up against any other 55 year old female, however.

Okay, enough "horn tooting" from me.... back to Kansas and chickens!

Thanks for sharing your feed recipes with me, I now have more options to consider. I do supplement the drinking water with Vi-tal year round, and give them oyster shell, flock blocks, and scratch also. Today I'm trying alfalfa pellets soaking in a heated dog bowl, I may have to trick them into eating it! And thanks ChooksChick for the warning, I think I'll be shoping at the TSC in Topeka from now on!!!

Take about a dozen eggs, a cup of whole oats and a cup of alfalfa pellets. Mash it all together in a bowl, shells and all. Nuke it until done. Mash it all up again and let it cool slightly. Then feed. Doesn't look all that great, but ours clean it up quick.
