Cool, Someday we need to meet face to face.

Sounds good. I will be building three or four more if not more of these very soon.

Cute little pen....are you going to reinforce the chicken wire with hardware cloth? The chicken wire isn't going to stop a coon or dog.

Chicken math is alive and well at Ivywoods. Yesterday I brought home 33 beautiful, healthy 8 month old pullets. 23 leghorns and 10 Rhode Island reds. They are laying well, beautiful extra large eggs. Along with the pullets I got two large feeders, two large waterers, several small waterers and feeders, 2 bags of layer crumbles and a big plastic trash barrel to put it in, a feed scoop and several dozen eggs. The people that sold them to me had bought them for their son and he had moved out. They were tired of taking care of them and wanted to get rid of all of it. I got the whole shebang for $200.

Now I will need to get some egg cartons in a hurry!

My hubby had to work last night, but I had the night off, so I built a double-stack 10 hole nest box for them. I'm going to have to enlist his help to get it moved from the shop to the temporary (quarantine) pen they are in.

This is going to be my "workhorse" flock that I hope will help support my hobby birds.
