Seen this little story on MSN today:

Iowa hen lays 'egg-normous' prize

February 28, 2011

BONAPARTE, Iowa—A hen in southeast Iowa has provided its owner with a prize he calls "egg-normous."

It's a 4.1-ounce beauty that's about twice the size of large eggs sold by the dozen in supermarkets.

After it was laid Feb. 18 by an Australorp hen, 37-year-old Nathan Batten carried the egg around in his coat pocket for a couple of days to show his friends. He's since put it in his refrigerator.

The egg measures 3.5 inches long, 6.5 inches around.

Sean Skeehan raises chickens at Blue Gate Farm in Chariton. He says egg size depends on chicken breed, not chicken feed. He says Australorp eggs usually weigh about 3 ounces.

According to The Des Moines Register, Batten intends to contact Guinness World Records to see whether he's got a worthy entry.

This is a bit more that I seen on the eating health part of MSN today. I wish more people would see these storys

If You Want Protein, Buy...
Eggs ($1.99 per dozen)

Nutritional bang for your buck: 6 g protein for 17 cents (one egg)

Strengthen your muscles with America’s incredible edible favorite. “Egg white is pure protein,” Gerbstadt says. “Nearly 100 percent of the egg’s protein is useable by your body.”

Bonus: Eggs contain 14% less cholesterol and 64% more vitamin D than they did in 2002, according to new research from the USDA.

Getting people to buyeggsd for their great nutriton; much less eat our eggs is some times like telling Charlie Sheen that he is making a fool of himself! Yet I agree with the Black Austrlorp big egg syndrome, You cant close the carton on my 5 yearl old girls eggs.
Roasting a couple of ducks today: cubed wheat bread with butter and herbs toasted. Fresh clipped rosemery, and more home grown herbs. Stuffed into the ducks with bacon and Jalapinos on top. First basteing is awesome smelling!
Getting maple sap out the wazoo! Have to tell you that this maple syrup is awesome! If you havent started do it now or prepare for next year!
the smell in the house is awesome, and ...... well its an awesome product. I have started to name the trees as they will get more protection now that I know what they can do!
