SNOW!! ACK!
We didn't get any...yet. I don't want it.
The feed LOOKS pricey, but it's not. And it's WAY better than normal scratch. The 'scratch' part of it is 14% protein, and the UltraKibble brings it up to nearly 18%. It comes out to $23 a 50# bag, but a 50# bag lasts nearly twice as long, so it ends up cheaper. Funny thing is, they get up later and go to bed earlier, because they are satiated and aren't looking for food constantly. It's a huge win, in my book.
Mileage may vary, of course...I do look forward to hearing how it works for other folks. I know many have used it with scratch on their own. I've been told I might cut down on the different peas in the recipe to lower the phytoestrogen content, and I think I'll raise the flax and buckwheat; possibly the wheat a bit. I might also go for more sesame and safflower. They love the quinoa! That gets picked out first! The peanuts, too- gone in a flash.
