I plan too, but are they really gonna eat all the ticks? I want a sure thing ......lol

Mine do a good job on them.

How many you HAve? whats the Guinea to land ratio ? Would 3 or 4 be too much for a 75 ft x 40 ft piece of land ?
I can't get any Guineas till next week end

That was In the winter and If I hadn't all and I mean ALL my chickens would be dead. I wouldn't have been posting " OH SOME KIDS SHOT A FEW OF MY BIRDS " " OH I THINK MY BIRDS HAVE MAREKS". Those Guineas took my first chickens way to far and all I would have been left with was LOUD AZZ GUINEAS !!

I've only got 7 currently...probably had 10 last summer, but I've had as few as 4 and they still took care of the ticks.

They aren't going to stay in your 75x40 yard tho......they like to wander.

Katy,

I have spoken with all the neighbors tonight and all are OK at the moment with me getting Guineas. My only issue is that I don't have the funds to build a fence nor cap off a area so the chickens don't follow the guineas. On top of that the neighbors have only dealt with the sweet sounds of FLICKIN' THE FLEA PICKIN' CHICKEN (not loud). So the noise is the issue, I know I have their consent, but that is now not 3 months from now when they are roosting in their trees squawking at their dog or cat. I am Just trying too stay as neutral as possible, because if one neighbor complains I LOOSE ALL MY BIRD'S !. Are Turkeys louder then Guineas? I might be able to pass a Turkey better then a guinea.

thank you all for your help . I appreciate it.

Daren

If they've never been around guineas you may end up with a problem eventually!
