Consolidated Kansas

I am laughing my rear off! That is so funny! My luck in that case would be to have had a semi or some tall truck pull up along side me so they could see all the way in the vehicle.
One summer day when I was at work toward the end of the day, I was sitting across from one of the guys I worked with who was repairing a portable eye wash station. I had on a light pink T-shirt. Anyway, he had just charged it and accidentally (or so he claims!) hit the activator. The thing shot two huge streams of water across the room and straight onto the front of me. That pink T-shirt became ultra transparent and was totally drenched. We had to clock out and leave. So there I am walking out with a wet see through t-shirt with about 1500 other workers. I felt like people really got to know me better that day!

Hawkeye, yes I will post pics of my new birds when I get back. We're on our way out of town as I type, going to Missouri to see DH's family for the weekend.

LOL! What a hoot.

I'm not telling some of the stupid stuff I've done. Nope. Not going there!

I have so much to do today, but I feel like crap. I was running a fever last night and sat and watched a movie with hubby. I never watch TV, and I almost never can force myself to sit and watch a movie. I guess I vacationed to hard.

All the birdies are doing fine today. I brought a guinea home from my sister's place that she didn't want. I had him in the layer coop, and he was running around with the 4 other pied guineas, but now it seems he wants to take up residence in our shop.

That ain't gonna happen. I may eat my first guinea soon. I tried to shoo him out, but he flew up into the rafters and kept hopping from one rafter to another. If he stays in there I will have to butcher him. I can't have him pooping on all of our machining equipment!

Hubby says they are really good and taste a lot like pheasant. I may just find out for myself. I bought a (new?) crock pot at a flea market when I was traveling, so I may just get to test it out.

Ivy, I've never eaten pheasant although I raise the dumb things. I keep thinking I'll try it some day. If you do cook a guinea let me know how it was. You saw how many I have. If the noise gets too much I may have to cull some of the males out of here and into the oven.
Oh rittert, you have no idea the stories I couldn't tell on here! I'm kind of like watching the three stooges exponentially.
Just got the birds fed. I have someone coming to get a few more in a little bit and buying some feed from me. I really don't want to sell any feed cause that means a trip to the elevator sooner but I don't mind helping someone out if I can. I do wish I had a huge grain bin and could buy several ton at a time. Just don't have the money to buy that high dollar equipment. I think I need to find a richer man to support my bad habits.

Oh and Ivy, I'm sorry you aren't feeling well. You had that time gone then jumped right back into working on your projects. It was probably just too much!

I'm going to take tonight off work because I am just not up to par.

I was running a fever last night, but I don't think I have been today. I'm just pretty wiped out and achy. I just talked to my sister. She is down in the dumps. I think we all just had such a good time it's kind of depressing that it's over.

We all wish we could spend more time together.

I just checked under my broody black copper marans hen. I have 3 cute little fuzzybutts under there!

There are 3 more eggs so I am going to leave the chicks in there for a day or so. I think I will go out and candle the last 3 tonight when it gets dark. It takes a very strong light and pitch black conditions in order to candle those very dark eggs. If the remaining 3 eggs are not viable I will go ahead and take the chicks out tomorrow. I hatched them for someone else. I hope the other 3 hatch, but I'm not holding my breath.

I've never had very good hatch rates with my marans, but maybe this time will be different.

I've been out working on the Mandarin pen again. I got all the wire laced together. Ouch! my hands are cramping. I finished the filter and took it out there then asked DH his opinion. Big mistake. Now there's a change of plans on how it will be set up. I have to get a few more fittings for the filter and change them out, plus buy some more hose. Going to build a different shelter for the ducks and also house the filter in there so it doesn't look out of place. (I like that idea.)
But the adorable little shelter DH built before won't be used. I'm thinking of putting some dividers in it and using it for a fancy nesting box for the Seramas. They like those closed quarters. So that means buying some more lumber and taking on yet another building project. I don't think I'll ever get this thing done! I was hoping to get the ducks moved this weekend.
I also decided to build an island on one end of the pond so they could stand with their feet in the water if they wanted. It might keep a drake from drowning a hen trying to mate her as well. But that means moving some more big rocks. I decided it was time to quit for tonight.

Lol danz most of mine arn't byc appropriate either. I was working cattle on a rainy day at the sale barn in manhattan about 5 years ago and had a pigeon crap on the brige of my glasses, everyone was giving me weird looks and finally a guy says "you have crap on your nose" so I looked over my self and gave him a puzzled look back (I was covered from head to toe in cattle manure) then he said "no bird crap". lol to me crap is crap. Ivy- I've heard guinea tastes like pheasant to, I've had pheasant and I think it tastes like slighly more greasy dark meat turkey, I liked it.
