Consolidated Kansas

Karen- I love those ducky pics! Especially the one with the two ducklings heads facing out, that is cool!

Tweety- Hang in there, glad your ducks are hanging out and swimming! I am sure Quackers will love her new home. I have had to rehome a few flock members that were not hanging well with the gang so it happens.

Everyone stay safe down in Wichita area and anywhere else it is storming tonight!!

Crazy weather tonight, we're watching it all on TV. I hope you're all staying safe!

KarenS, the bunnies don't need a light, their littermates are in cages by themselves & have been fine. They have more of a problem with heat than cold.

I have a chick that has hatched tonight & it's peeping it's little head off. My Yorkie is having a fit again.

tweety, yes we have to show her it's OK.

Haysville & Wichita both got tornado damage tonight. I hope everyone is OK.

I was just reading that.. I really do hope we hear from our Wichita friends soon!! They may not have power right now. I'm going to be awake for several more hours. I can't sleep knowing this stuff is potentially going on.

Everything OK here at my place. We live about 5 miles north of where the tornado hit. A lot of damage on the south side of Wichita. Another storm cell is headed out way in a couple of hours. Not going to get much sleep tonight either.

I am checking in. We are ok! I hope everyone else is ok. Last I heard 15000 homes are without electricity.

We're good here between Rose Hill and Derby. Glad to hear from those who have checked in. Our electricity just came back on.

I agree WichitaKidd, not much sleep tonight.

Gotta love Kansas.

We're fine this morning! We were worried-- the tornado that was coming up into Clearwater was nearby to us--but still several miles to the west of us. Fortunately, I think it dissipated before it got here, they said they lost sight of it. Then the other one started up just north of us a bit, and we felt that one. We never really did have much wind until that one kicked up and all of a sudden the house shook and our lights flickered off and on. The wind was roaring out there. But listening to the tv, it was just building for the tornado that hit Haysville and south WIchita. Not much damage this morning. When I let the dogs out this morning, I noticed some of our stuff scattered across the front lawn, but no biggie-- will be easy to pick up. The highway near us is closed down, though-- we heard there are power lines and trees down in it from where it touched down. Sure glad that most of you all are fine!

Tweety, glad that DUcky is going to be happy in her new home. :)

Karen, those are adorable pics of your ducks and bunnies! LOVE!! Great photos of the two of those ducks.

If I miss you, I'm sorry!

I am so thankful that you people made it through the storm last night. I watched the weather off and on past midnight last night. Sure hope everyone else did okay without great losses.
Yesterday was a pretty awful day. One of my sons and daughter in law came down to visit and to see my Mom. I couldn't believe how awful she was doing. She was gasping for air and the morphine wasn't working and her O2 SAT wouldn't come up. We left about 6 and went to eat. We got back to the house about 8:00 and they headed home to Manhattan. About an hour later the phone rang. They had transferred Mom to the hospital by ambulance. They had been unable to get her O2 above 59. They took exrays.
Basically the doctor said she was trying to die. Her lungs just aren't doing able to do the oxygen carbon dioxide transfer any more. They put a special bag on her to add with transfer and put her on 15 liters of oxygen which is the highest setting. I finally left well after midnight when she was finally sleeping.
I will probably be camping out at the hospital today. I was afraid to leave last night. I guess one of the scariest things is they have no single rooms. They all have two beds. They had removed everything from the room but her bed and one chair. That made me think they didn't think she could possibly make it. Watchign her suffer is ripping my heart out.
