Consolidated Kansas

That purse is hilarious. I was reading all calmly and I scrolled down thinking to see a Coach purse or something and there it was and I started cracking up!!!!! That's sooooo funny. My ds said the handles should be feet and the zipper a knife handle, he thinks differently than I. It was just such a surprise to see that purse.

Danz, babies often have cords wrapped around their neck but it can be wrapped so tightly that it makes their heart rate drop. We had to unwrap cords around our babies necks, my dh did most of that stuff with our natural births. It is like second nature when they emerge to just check for the cord and unwrap it. One of our babies the midwife didn't make it here in time and we didn't even think anything of it, just unwrapped it. Midwives don't generally use electronic fetal monitoring constantly. Mine used a doppler at important times to sort of spot check baby's heart rate and I feel like that's adequate. The bad part about the constant monitoring is that you can't move because you're strapped to the machine constantly monitoring the baby. If you can't move, you can't do a whole lot to help move labor along. I think some of the bigger hospitals have some that are wireless now, I have no experience with those but honestly I didn't like those 2 big straps tied around me holding it in place. I don't see how this is necessary in most cases. It's like there is always a time and a place for everything, but there are risks involved too in not being able to move around during labor because that moving around helps the baby gain a better position for birth. Danz, I'm glad your pig seems to be thriving, I'm curious to see how he behaves when you go out to care for him. Please be careful.

Thanks for the pic Hawkeye, I didn't notice the second pic that first time around. They are pretty, and now I want to take pics of mine, they're certainly not RIR.

I haven't been out in a few hours, it was nice out earlier but it looks like a storm may be coming through.

checoukan, I hope you feel better quickly.

I'm going to go out and check my little chicks and make sure they got inside.

I was giving the kids a "mom" speech, finished up and looked down to see the chicken purse! I cackled out loud (pun intended)!

Made me smile and I needed that today.
It has been a horrible day with neighbors today and I need a break before I explode. Long story short, their turkeys joined my turkey flock and settled in I was having to chase them home every night to go to their own roost, a couple days ago I told neighbor she had to do it herself because I can not keep taking care of their turkey, they were swinging a pole at them to get off my roof were they would roost when I wouldnt let them stay in teh coop and hit one in the head and it fell to its death, to prevent this from happening again i told them they need to come get their bird every night at 6 or 630 and put him up and if they do not want the responsibility of hearding him home that I would buy him from them and just keep him. Now I am the bad guy and getting the whole name calling routine and I am so horrible that I am to stay out of their lives and leave them be. My daughter is friends with 2 girls that live there so this is a terrible ordeal, these people are crazy anyway. I cant believe they reacted this way......

Oh, for heavens sake!! Maidenwolf, some people should not own animals, fowl, and pets!! Hit one in the head and causing it to fall and die. That is cruel! If they are that silly, makes me wonder if it would be better for your daughter not to be around those kids. I know its not fair, but who in the world said anything was fair. Just make sure your birds are locked up and if something happens to the neighbors bird, it not your fault they are not taking care of it .

Yes I agree.. But these girls are great kids and have been asking to live with me, breaks my heart. I decided yes whatever happens to theirs it is not my fault, I am an animal nut and it is very hard for me to do this. I can not and will not put up with it anymore, and actually am trying to find a place to move to so I am not next door to them anymore...

Where in Missouri are you maidenwolf. I don't blame you for trying to get away from them. I drive school bus, and well I have kids I know would come to live with me if they were given a choice.
Rotissarie chicken , mashed tata's, and steamed califlower. Be ready in about 45 minutes!!

Kansas Prairie, my son out at Garden City was asking where in Kansas you seen the wild hog damage. He wants to go verify it, so they can better moniter the situation. They know of areas along the river. He was wondering if that is where you seen the crop damage

What jerks! Just remember you are above sinking to their level. I am sure you daughter understands that you didn't wish to have trouble with them.
Mammahen the fetal monitors that were used on me were just a strap thing that went around my middle. It didn't hold me down at all. I was able to move around and if I needed to get up and walk across the room they just unhooked the leads from the machine.
Well I had a very busy day and a very sickening day. I am raging war against our local owl!!!
I went out to feed and water and that monster had pulled the head off the cameo peachick right through the welded wire. I would have thought this was the work of a coon but that is exactly what the owl has been doing when he got a bird. I don't think the dogs would let a coon get in that close anyway. In fact we haven't seen any coons here since I got the dogs. It just made me sick. It's bad enough to loose an occasional chicken but to loose a peafowl hurts every where. So I ended up cutting and installing hardware cloth on the ends of the pen and the door so it couldn't happen again. Then I went out and stretched a length of chicken wire along the outside of the turkey section as far as it would go. I got it all stapled down. It was getting late and I am going to have to finish the job with some other wire. I just ran out of time to look for some and get it installed.
I spent the other part of the afternoon running around in circles with my tape measure again!

I moved furniture and moved it again and changed my mind over and over about where I was going to put this monster cage for the chipmonks. I had planned to put it in the front room but it would have meant removing a couch.. ..DH didn't want to tackle that cause this couch is an antique and it weighs a ton. So I managed to get the room cleaned for the most part in the process of moving furniture ...only to put it all back where it was. Then I started moving furniture in the dining room. The cage is there for now. I ran out of daylight to get the bins all set up with digging material for them. Hopefully tomorrow I'll get it all finished and they can move into their new home.
My goal is to get that enclosed deck built as soon as possible so I can move the cage and the incubators out there.
I'm also going to get my rear organized enough to try to sell some of this excess stuff I have around here. I have ten times more furniture than this house can hold. Most of it is stuff I really want to keep but I have lots of other items that I could let go of. I just need to get reasonable about them.
