Constant, loud parties in the brooder

This is Lucky. He was rescued from a difficult situation and has become a real part of our family. He is completely OCD -- I guess that is a doxy trait, though. He likes to run through a group of chickens and scatter them, but my GLW has him totally cowed. She chest bumps him if he gets too close.

Oh my gosh how precious... I had long hairs before the ones I have now, okay Now I want another long hair... he sure is a cutie.. thanks for sharing..

Hi All. Been busy fortifing the run it's 15 x 48. I have to let the juvies out eventually. Besides keeping preditors out I'm focusing on keeping them in. Completly tore it down, reset new posts. Replaced hardware cloth with 8' high 2 x 4 welded goat wire fence. Three feet at the bottom will be reinforced by hardware cloth. I'm using a portable carport for shade at one end and the whole thing will be covered with Deer netting. Now for the top of the fence. Razor wire or electic. I already have an electric one I could use. Perimeter is guarded by sunk 2 x 8 to prevent digging. Can you think of anything I might have missed. Maybe a guard tower with light and a submachine gun.
Some one call Homeland Security we need reinforcements.

Here are my mine detection dogs. Real couch potatoes.

The chocolate dapple/piebald is Dooley. He just turned 4.

The smaller, older one is Zorro. He's a reformed chicken killer, will be 13 this August. Now he goes through the flock with his tail down and with a very low profile.

OK just couldn't resist! I just contacted a breeder for light Brahmas and I will have a bunch of eggs to set for the St. Patty's/DH birthday hatch I am doing! Thank you Miss Lydia for letting me know what kind of chickens those are! So stoked to have some and with their rose combs should do really well here in Utah. BTW the doggie pictures are really cute. I will add one of mine. I just LOVE embarrassing my dogs!

OK back to my undercover work!
Oh one more thing, does anyone know a good breeer of buff Brahmas who might have eggs? Would love to hatch both colors out at the same time.

Yes Miss Lydia--I have been shoveling LOTS of snow! My chickens think they live in the alps now because all they see when they come out are mountains of snow around their run! I'm worried about Petej as we havent heard from him in a while. I wonder if he had to go back into protective custody. Might want to send out the undercover duck to find out.

Okay I'm on it madsenaccord!

It's obvious to me that the 'ruffians" have sedated the mine dectector dogs. Doxies are bred to 'go to earth' down badger holes etc. Turn about is fair play. If we could awaken them they could tunnel under the ruffians strongholds and plant our own mines- I'm thinking some angry skunks. This would be a very dangerous mission, skunks are so highly explosive - Any single male doxies out there with no close personal ties - we need volunteers!!
