Constant, loud parties in the brooder

Yep, he'll have to go to a new home. We had planned on keeping it if it turned out to be a hen, but of course not.

Dear Lord, they're terrifying! Especially the second picture with the comb slightly askew...
Glad to hear from you, though. You have to check in so we know you're still with us We don't want to send dsqrd out in her chicken costume riding her bike IF we don't have to-we don't want to blow her cover.

The noise is currently my biggest concern, both in the brooder and when they are living in the coop. I have neighbors close to where the coop is to be located, and I would hate to have my 4 hens cause too much of a rukus. That particular neighbor grew up on a farm so he's probably ok with it, but my other neighbor abou 50 feet away is a bit more tempermental. I wonder if 3 hens would be much quieter than 4. I have a young family of 4 so I'm not sure how many we need to provide eggs (getting dual purpose breeds).

Such a great site!

Hens are noisey, right before bed time 2 of my 17 were outside making so much noise, and for the life of me I no not why.. I think they just like to hear each other... but maybe if you talked to your more tempermental neighbor and told them your plans to get chickens and that he'll probably be getting free fresh eggs that might compensate for any noise they may make.

I think they might need solitary in Alactraz! They knocked over the waterer again this morning, ate every scrap of food in the house and trashed the brooder. Judge, please reconsider your decision. I don't believe they learned their lesson!

Love the pictures. Miss Lydia-are you sure that goose isn't a double agent? Looks more like their early warning system to me. ibeier2000- 1st one is practically saying-whatda want here? We aren't doing nothin. Poor chicken with the comb askew had a few to many at the takeover planning party the the other just playing innocent. If you all start finding maps scratched into the floors or painted onto walls with water or poo then you can retreat to your bunkers. I'm scared and my chicks will not be here for a couple weeks yet. Bunker construction is going well & should be completed before their arrival.

This morning when I went out I was lulled into a false sense of security. Nothing was a miss. When feeding the critters tonight I was interupted by unexpected guests and forgot to fill the chicks feeders. I just got back from doing that. I must have interupted something water was knocked in to the feeder. Crumble cookie dough??? Or plastic explosives, they have access to nitrogin (poo)Checked on the Juvies and found this:
