How do I discourage my hens from pecking at my feet? I have 13 hens (about 18 weeks old) that came from tractor supply and 11 10 week old chicks that came from a hatchery. The older girls constantly peck at my shoes when I am inside their run and now the younger ones are starting to do it too. I have tried ignoring them (which leads to them trying peck my legs and clothes), pushing them away, and scaring them away by jumping up and down and making lots of noise. They always come right back and continue pecking my feet. I wear rain boots in the coop because I learned really quick they like my toes. I can't do anything with at least 6 of them constantly under my feet pecking. What can I do about it?
