What's really strange to me is often I have 20 BYC pages/tabs open, like when doing the New Members forum, I open up all of the new members and all of the old ones with new replies on them. Or, when I'm judging, I'm opening up about a dozen entries at a time.Very interesting... especially because it is on a completely different server.

Number of tabs never mattered in the past. I can have dozens open and only one locks up. The rest are all fine. This is a PC.How many tabs do you have open? I can't see any but I also don't use Safari. If you've got a lot of tabs/background things running it could be those taking too much resources.
Lacy, this post explained what I do, and I do not lose any reaction I've left, comment made, or anything I've started writing when it freezes.I just had this happen for the first time on my laptop and got the page unresponsive warning. I'm using Yahoo on this device. The warning left after ten or so seconds and the page did start working some time after it went way, though it did not do my previous action I tried doing when it froze (which was go to the next page). I had to redo the action.
Thanks for this.Lacy, this post explained what I do, and I do not lose any reaction I've left, comment made, or anything I've started writing when it freezes.
It still does it to me, too, and similarly, this is a desktop PC. It only takes a few seconds, though, but is more of a pain when you're in a hurry and in the middle of scrolling a thread.
I don't have issues uploading, I have issues seeing them. I do not know if this is related. I just hit refresh and they open. Thanks for this.
I'm on my tablet using Chrome this morning and after I saw this post and went to another page, my tablet froze but after a few seconds, it came out of it. I was able to finish my action (which was clicking on a Spoiler) and as I was reading the post, I got this:
View attachment 4150462
(It's taking me a little bit to upload this picture. For whatever reason I've been having troubles uploading screenshots on BYC lately.)
I clicked reload and it took me back to the page I was on. Everything was as it was supposed to be, and in the case of the Spoiler I had opened, that had closed like it would on a reload. Everything is back to running as it should and I'm still using the same tab that this occured on. As far as this warning in the above screenshot, this is the first time it has happened on my tablet.
