Constipated baby chick

Hey I’m very new to raising chickens, my babies are 10 days old today. Last couple days I’ve noticed one of my baby chicks seems to be struggling to poop. She even send out a chirp as it slowly comes out, and sometimes it starts to come out then she stops. Her vent is clean, and open but it does look swollen. The other chicks have fluff or feathers covering theirs but hers is clearly showing. ~ she’s also smaller and has less feather growth than the others.
She is eating and drinking just fine.

Should I be worried?

Yes, you need to treat your chick or she will get worse. The treatment is oil. I use coconut oil in its solid state since it's easy to break off tiny bits and slip them into the beak. Try to get a half teaspoon down her.

Usually, one treatment is all it takes, and the chick will produce a large turd in an hour or two, or overnight in some cases. If there is no turd, repeat the oil.

If you smooth some coconut oil on the vent, it will help reduce the swelling and pain.

How do you get them to open up and take it?? I scraped some under her beak but she’s not helping me much! I did give her a warm bath, use oil on her bum, and I feel better that she does poop it’s just so dry and she’s struggling.

You may have to actually hold her beak open and scrape oil off onto the inside edge of beak..a popsicle stick may help to transfer solid oil.

Is she drinking well?
What all and how exactly are you feeding her?

We are using a starter feed from our local feed store. She is drinking and eating just fine from what I can see. I just have the feed in a chick feeder plenty of room for all the chick to eat from. I did sprinkle some small grit but not a lot because I kept reading to give it at different ages so I was unsure. I have 2 chicks that are smaller than the rest and not growing as many feathers, but this is the only one having poop issues.
