Hello fellow chicken keepers!
I have a hen who went broody a week ago, She has been in a separate enclosure from my other girls, sitting on her eggs for 4 or 5 days now and I haven't seen her poo except for one little poo I found in the nest area. I gave her a few small pieces of bread with olive oil and flaxseed on it which I read that would help. Since she is on eggs I can’t really remove her from them for a warm bath so I put a warm rag on her fluff area to try and help relax her muscles. She is an older hen and hasn’t laid in a while so she not egg bound. Also she seems like she’s trying to poop but can’t as all that came out was a little bit of liquid. She has food in water right in front of her so she is still eating and drinking and she is still responsive when I come to see her. It’s currently night so I’ll check on her in the morning but if she’s still not pooping what should I do?
