Update:

It been 2 long weeks.. I gave this chick daily enemas, pineapple juice, olive oil, I think the enemas helped most.

She was getting better but never good as far as passing stool. And then....her crop got impacted about 4 days ago and she was running around with a bloated neck.

So daily massages, Olive oil, Olive oil, Kombucha, ACV .....I had finally just given up and hoped that nature would soon take its course. Thing is she never seemed weak or in pain, she liked to run around with the other chicks and she always had an appetite.....

Got up this morning and the impacted crop was totally better, and when I put her on the counter to give her a little oil she backed up and had a poop. I think she might be just fine. 14 days of nursing...I sure hope shes worth it.

how were you doing the enemas? I have a chick that just died from beng totally backed up internally just like yours. And after close inspection I found anouther sg chick in the same condition with swollen lower belly, clean vent, and not pooping. I am going to try the pinapple juice and those things but was wondering how do you give an enema to a chicken? I was thinking a needleless syringe. Do you use just warm water?

Thanks.

Hows yours doing now?
