Another update on little Bavis. She is thriving and no more prolapse and she is pooping normally without issues. She is back in with her brood and is doing great. Note...we put a different chick from her brood in her 'confinement' cage each day so that she wasn't isolated alone and no harm when she went back with the others. Yippee! All is well...so far....and hope no permanent damage or scarring took place that will prevent her from laying in the future.Update on little Bavis.....last evening, she was still clean on her bottom and starving. I don't think she liked the egg yolks or yogurt in her cage. SO, I made mush out of the chick starter feed, added some egg yolk and yogurt with a few drops of mineral oil and she ate like a pig! OMG! Also, I put the food on a black plastic lid instead of a white glass plate. Maybe that made a difference. Doctored her with more Prep H, force fed her some water and lots of it. She was chirping away this morning and her dish was almost empty. BTW...we trade out one of the other chicks with her a couple of times a day so she doesn't get lonely or become unfamiliar with her brood mates. As for her sugar water, it is in a small plastic cat feeding dish and I only added about a 1/2 teaspoon to the water. Less than a cup of water in the dish.
