update- the boy s healing - no more straining to poo, rinsing his bum every evening and puttng nystatin on it, he is getting back to his normal self...

Late to the party here but I first wanted to thank PWAND for the great link to birdhealth. I have dealt a lot in the recent past with vent gleet in some rescued hens. tried every tip I had run across on here prior and won a few battles but never won the "war" and eventually lost or had to end their suffering one at a time. FINALLY I now understand the what's and why's, thank you!!!Here is a couple more links on Vent Gleet:

Keep him separated from the other birds until he is healed. They will peck at him.
