Construction For Dummies???

Tip.... before screwing in a screw drill a pilot hole a little smaller than the screw,,,,things will go a lot easier, screw will start easy, wood won't split, screw will seat, head won't wring off.

Before you cut, check your measurement again.
a set of clamps will help a lot.

good luck and have fun doing your project...learn by doing

Thanks for the tips! I am a very visual learner so the vids would be great. We do have a technical school here, but haven't heard of them offering carpentry as a cont. ed. class. won't hurt to call and ask though. I will also see if Home Depot or Lowes offers anything like that.

LOL, I am such a chicken. I have a few pallets that I am going to see if I can tear apart and make a few things so I haven't wasted any money if it doesn't work out well. However, I don't have a lot of strength in my arms so may have to enlist my son to do that.

The Internet is your friend! There are tons of plans and ideas out there that will pretty much suit just about anyone/anywhere. Just make sure whatever you decide to do that you read the plans carefully to begin with, acquire your supplies ahead of time, and measure TWICE and cut once!
