Construction of my 8'x8' Coop - In Progress...

Tonight is the 2nd night the chickens are in the new coop. I decided at 10pm to go out with my flashlight and see how the chicks were lined up for sleeping.

Well, 9 of my 10 were lined up on the very top rung of my roosting ladder. My poor little Silkie Bantam was the only one not up there. He was all by himself (or herself) in the nesting box. Poor thing.

Well, tonight will be the 5th night the children have been locked in the coop. Last night I went out at about 9pm and 9 chickens were on the top roost. One was on the 2nd to the top. That one was the New hampshire red, I believe. I was happy that the bantam made it to the top! LOL

I believe I'm going to let them out tomorrow and see how they do.

Great job! I love looking at all the differant ideas. Mine is 8x8 also.I liked Speckledhens clutch hutch so much that I made mine kind of like Her's.
