Since you are interested...Other Food Safe Stainless Steels you will see include, 18/8, 18/10, 430 and most expensive, 316. The numbers represent different Formulas and Alloy compositions. Nickle, Chromium, Carbon and others are added to Iron to make Steel and Stainless Steal. The amounts of these elements give the SS it's properties. Hardness, Non-Reactivity with Salt, Acid, Alkali, Stain Resistance, Rusting, yes the cheaper Stainless can still Rust if conditions are Wet and or Salty. A Gas Grill made with 430, stored outside in Florida is DOOMED!...JJ

I understand it well, or used to when I tested pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment for metal types and grades for FDA documentation with an xray gadget.
