yes I have found that the saying "you get what you pay for" is typically very true. I spent a lot of time getting the off brand or slightly imperfect, or used things and i always spent twice what a new one would have been repairing it, or just wound up with something that didn't quite do the job I was after. yes there are some great deals out there, but in general, paying the little extra up front pays off in the end. I don't have an air compressor, my my mom (next door) does, and now that I think of it, she also might have something at least similar to a turbo carver. I will have to raid her shop and see what she has, lol if it can be used in crafts or is used to put together car kits, or "seemed useful and cool" there is a decent chance it is in the shop somewhereI LOVE the turbo carver! it is sooo smooth and getting those tiny cuts is a breeze! Yes, $300 is a lot, but I do a lot of carving, so to me, it was worth that cost instead of having that unlimited egg supply.

Wow! These are awesome! I am amazed by the beauty! I would totally pick these to be the winner!!
Thank you so much! I'm trying my hand on egg embroidery now. I'm happy I've found a new medium for my temari skills. They R beautiful !!!!!!! I wish I had talent like you! My favorite is the blue but they are all extremely pretty
Thank you. Yes, the hinges are brass. They can only been seen if you have the eggs open and are looking for them specifically since I cover as much of the hinge as possible with trim and cover them in corresponding lacquer. Sort of like hiding your seams when sewing.Very beautiful are their metal hinges on them ? The picture is not showing that.
