Thank you! It's from my black copper marans hen. She laid the dark brown egg in the photo too. Her egg color varies quite a bit depending on the bloom. The purple eggs turn dark brown if they are washed. She's in my Easter egger pen. I'm about to try and hatch some of her eggs. I would love to see that crazy purple color on top of a blue egg shell...

let me know how that goes (I know it will take a while before you know ) I am hoping to do the same black copper with my Easter eggers
