I think it depends on the contest. I would say typically 3 is the best amount, but if it’s like the writing contests or a big, involved contest where people put in a lot of hard work, somewhere around 4

I like prizes, everyone does, but it really should depend on what the poll is. So saying it MUST have xx prizes don't work. Tailor it to the poll, frequency of whatever etc, you get the idea im sure.



Also, people need to be entering A: because it's fun, B: because it's interesting, and not just oh hey look FREE $#%$t, put MY name in, and you get low quality answers etc if it's a poll seeking some kind of knowledge .vs. just an enter to win type.

Nothing wrong with just wanting to give prizes out but people can fall into the habit of FREE... gimme dat.. too easily and in the end it has the ability to degrade the rep / quality of polls, the site etc.

I agree some contests might warrant more prizes than others, like the molt contest.

The prizes should be free roosters to the one who comes in last ::evil grin:: ... or better yet. Breed my cockatoo with a chicken so you get a Roostatoo... it can crow at 156 dB.

My reason for voting for more then 5, is more prizes the better, & more interested I would be.

I think there's other people that like more prizes.
