I just ate korean seaweed soup. Its sooooo yummmmm. My 2 year old kept picking the seaweed out and eating only that. I guess it could be worse.

I guess the ladies were fighting over whose babies were whose...7 chicks were killed

. I was only able to save two
iI had two turkey hens do the same thing

The the moms pretty much went right back to being broody...but I learned and they all got their own space the next time....it was the first time I let hens hatch and it has gone much better since then

ok..another sad story..

I had to hatch out for the fair..i do three fair hatch outs every year. These are not expensive eggs. these are my meat eggs. I have bred cornish crosses for quite sometime and my birds are big. I sell about 100-150 birds on Saturday morning for $9 each and it takes me about 2-4 hours. It is a lot of work to load, but, it is great to go home empty.

I loaded up the incubator to hatch and for some reason i had trouble with the temp. I went and purchased another one and started over. I kept the old one and continued incubating but I assumed it was doomed. i started collecting for another batch and filled the new bator. Well about 10 days later I had the old bater hatch out and 10 days later the new one hatched out..i had more birds than i know what i was going to do with. I did not sell out and had to feed the dang birds till the next fair. ugh..

Thanks for posting the link, madamwlf!

I would allllmost swear I heard a teeny little "cheep" about ten minutes ago. I'm ignoring it, on the theory that if I ignore it it's bound to get louder
