Wow, I started using a "safety-first" baby humidifier in the small room where my incubator is in. Although I've heard it is good to give the incubator fresh air daily a few times a day for the first 18 days by periodically removing the lid, it has been a great way to adjust the humidity level and keep the percentage where I want it. I am dry incubating with a little giant 9200 so I have been keeping the humidity about 25% (please let me know if this number is good as I am a newbie to this and this is my first hatch - day 8). Has anyone used a baby humidifier to maintain humidity and should I be concerned about anything for doing this? Thanks much! I love this site! It has been a wealth of information on my journey.

Yes, controlling your ambient humidity will help control the internal humidity of the incubator and no there is nothing wrong with using the humidifier if you choose to. I also have the 9200 (mine has the fan kit installed) and I run dry or low humidity incubation as well. I only run completely dry if I can maintain above 25% in my bator. If completely dry it doesn't stay above that I add a wet sponge and it usually holds at 30% ish. If you monitor your air cells you'll know if that is adequate for you or not. If you aren't familiar with monitoring your air cells and how to adjust humidity according to your air cells, you can find that info here: http://letsraisechickens.weebly.com...anuals-understanding-and-controlling-humidity
