Conundrum-broody? Practicing? Playing? What's going on?

Nest 3 has All the hay, all 3 fake eggs and all 3 fresh eggs. I refilled nest 1&2 fresh hay, fake egg back in each box and left nest 3 alone. What's going on?

My first thought is that someone is playing a practical joke on you. I could understand the fake eggs and real eggs but all the hay too? No.

Pullets just starting to lay can do weird things but I would not expect them. Sometimes a rooster or cockerel may try to help a pullet or hen find a good nest. If it is any of them I'd suspect him. But that doesn't sound right either, not even with an adolescent only 21 weeks old. If he moved all the fake eggs that may have influenced the others to all lay there.

Could you post some photos of your nests and how they are arranged. Maybe we could see something. Or maybe the hay was not all moved to the third nest but most was on the coop floor? Chickens can do some really strange things but this doesn't sound like chickens to me.

No way anyone could pull a joke. We are too isolated, only me and my partner here, he wouldn't do that.well, went for pics-brownie is in nest 2 and Goldie is impatiently waiting. Nest left to right 1, 2, 3, nest 4 is storage at moment. Please forgive mess I clean today.

Thanks for the photos. Nice set-up. I don't see anything there that would explain any of that. I've seen some strange things, yours ranks right up there.
Goldie gave up waiting on brownie and used nest 1. I just went out Goldie still in nest, I scratched her chin and below her ears, got her egg and egg from nest 2 . she followed me back to house, I showed her the eggs scratched under her chin and came inside. She's standing at sliding glass door watching me.
