I’m new to chicken keeping and my dad and I are currently converting the children’s playhouse into a coop and run. Obviously doors to go on yet, coop and roof to sort etc so definately not finished. My question is do you think they would use to upstairs bit? I have a feeling they may want to roost up there or not use it at all. I can’t see any runs that are multi-storey 😳 thankyou any advice appreciated xx

Welcome to BYC.

That's a cool conversion. I'm certain that my California White, Chipotle, who loves high perches, would go to the upper story. I suspect that they'd try to roost up there at night.
Thankyou so much. Had a feeling they may try and roost up there x fingers crossed I can get them to go into the coop 🙂

That may very well become a problem.
Providing good ventilation in the coop will help, as well as not over populating the coop.

Ooh I’m hoping to have four girls. Hoping coop and run will be ok for them. Our eggs hatch in 9 days. A kind neighbour has given my children and I eggs to hatch. We are to keep four girls and they are having the others back to keep. Thankyou for your help. X
