The 11'X11' run is enclosed with 2"X4" fence wire buried 3" deep. It's 7' high so I can stand up in it. It keeps everything but squirrels and small birds out. Those are hanging tomato plants - the girls love them.

I ran the same 2"X4" wire around the barred section to keep the cats out while the girls were still babies. Now that the girls are grown the kitties are smart enough to leave them alone.

The nesting box fits 3 12"X12" flakes of alfalfa hay. The girls chew on it while in there.

They share the barn with 2 saddlebreds. You can see the roosts in this one.

Despite not having any help, I managed to finish this in a matter of hours with my limited carpentry skills. Most of it is made from leftover lumber and wire from the fence. I did have to go get a couple of 2"X4"s and hangers.

It's too bad I may have to build an actual coop, as there is another horse who wants to move in.

Great set up! But I just wanted to say I too ride Saddlebreds.

They're the best! We also have Morgans, Hackney ponies, and two Friesians at the barn.
