Converting a playhouse - post pictures of yours too!

We are finally making headway on our coop. The chicks are 7 weeks old and need to be outside soon!

Based on Enchanted Sunrise Farms' post in this thread: https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=6511391#p6511391 I found a great deal on a playhouse from Toys R Us.

Here is the standard playhouse:

And here it is with some modifications:

The weather isn't cooperating but we are hoping to get it up on a platform tomorrow and the hen box attached to the back. Then on to the run....

Very nice, don't forget to skirt it if it will be standing outside the run or at least until the run is around the coop

What a wonderful idea!! I wish I'd seen this before we started trying to convert an old metal storage shed!!! This looks much better. Kudos!

Are you up north? Anchor it! Remember February? We were SOOOO glad we anchored our chooks' house in concrete and found it standing strong with downed trees all around...

Thanks everyone!

We got it up on the platform today.

Need to put the hen box on the back. The 4x4 platform legs are cemented in and the house is bolted into the platform. We raised it up on 2x4's to add more depth for bedding.

We'll see what tomorrow brings.
