Hi all! My wife and I have a shed we just moved into a better location in our yard, and want to use it for six hens. It's an old shed the previous owners left behind, and is now cleared out. I have some ideas of what to do with it, but wanted to get some input from the group. The shed is 12' wide by 9' deep, and 9' high. I'm thinking of making it into an oversized coop with covered shelves to keep the chicken supplies on, with the chickens living in the rest of it. The shed is up on pipes from when we were moving it, but now rests on the gravel, raised up on two 6x6 beams that run the length of it.

Thanks in advance!

That could make a great little coop. The first thing that jumps out at me from a coop perspective is that there is a serious need for ventilation to be added.

Thanks! I was trying to figure out how to balance ventilation versus draft. How big of an opening do you think we'd need?
