The Plan
* Kick the kids out...ha ha ha they've outgrown it
* Remove the slide and swing Section
* Remove climbing "Rocks"
* Put chicken wire around the whole thing
* Install Nesting boxes and feeders
* Use the Old Climing Wall as a wall
* Even plan to use the old money bars for perching

Stay tuned for updates as they happen..p.s. we own our event company and we are at peak season so ...updates will be slow coming.
Have a blessed day!

Please consider forgoing the chicken wire for 1/2"-1/4" hardware cloth. Predators can get threw chicken wire like a hot knife threw butter. Great idea!

The wire is just to keep the girls in at night, for the most part they will be free ranging in our fenced in 1/2 acre lot.
We are in Hawaii and don't have the standard predators like other areas. Plus we live in a more urban district so wild animals are not as plentiful.
But I really do appreciate the advice. Just for fun...what is hardware cloth.

24-in x 25-ft Silver Galvanized Steel Hardware Cloth
  • 1/2" mesh opening
  • 19 gauge wire
  • Galvanized after welding
  • Gutter guards, screen guards, sifting screens

You would want to look for 19 gauge wire or more and galvanized after welding for the best strength. In the mainland we are getting hit harder then usual by predators because of the strange winter we are having. I guess on an island you can only have so many because they can't just cross state lines. It also might be harder for you to find there. Good luck in whichever one you choose!

Oh YAY! That's the same one I bought. I didn't know the name of it. Got it at Lowes.

We still deal with the mongoose here. They LOVE the eggs. which is why I opted for the wire you're talking about.
