I wondered if the vultures would be offended by the wire basket, and leery of landing on it.
Is the elevated sandbox to keep the dogs out? I am not sure if I am following your thinking.
Originally, I thought you wanted the chickens to eat the maggots, but then it seemed like you were hoping for a beatle that eats the maggots?
Do you chickens explore the area at all? How is the smell?

Trying to tick me off! LOL! Yes, a smell problem when humidity and temp real high with almost no wind today. Most days not too smelly.
I have been at state fair for last few days so birds penned. When released they do not need to approach area of carcasses because forage abundance so high everywhere in yard.
Maggots are not supposed to be consumed in their entirety by the beetles. Beetles are being little turds.
Elevation for keeping dogs off but they are not working carcasses at all. Based on there stink, like skunks more fun.
Vultures not even coming in at all now. Carcasses all over the place near roads and in river bottoms as flood waters go down. I can smell rotting fish from bottoms more than 2 miles away.
Bald Eagles are not even fishing ponds bottoms more productive.
