Converting rabbit hutch to quail home

I bought a homemade rabbit hutch , nice setup for my quail but I was wondering the wire is 1/2" x 1" squares, is that OK for my quail or should I put smaller wire over that??

mine are in a rabbit hutch i have close to the house so dont have to worry about predators reaching in

Yes, you need to cover the wire with 1/4 or 1/2 inch hardware cloth to keep out snakes, mice, and paws of all kinds. Those hutches make great quail housing. I use one for my Bobs coop. You might also want to lock in the removeable tray in the bottom so nothing can pull it out or mess with it.

whatever grows in ohio only special things i know are clover and dandelions besides that just grass and ivy that grows on the side of the building we put them by

havent gotten any eggs yet they are only 7 and a half weeks old

Works pretty good. Unpictured is a nest box that they can hide in and a cardboard box for dustbathing.
