It was a race against the clock before it got too dark but we have finished! It’s not perfect, but it’s a BIG upgrade from what they had before. We decided to just use straw on the floor for now, and will be making a small door for them in the coming weeks. So although it’s not completely finished, I thought it was best to get them in as quick as possible as they really had no space before. Very happy with it though 😀

I converted a storage shed as well. I just put pine shavings down and some Sweet PDZ. Scoop it all out about once a year. As for the nest boxes what I like are the pads from amazon. I attached a screen shot. They stay put in the boxes and will last a long time, even with chickens scratching at them. I’d say they will last for several months or more. Just worth it to me for the convenience and the fact they actually stay in the boxes and don’t get kicked out by the chickens.

Chaos in the coop this morning🤣 everyone’s decided they want to lay at once! Also, they were trying to lay on the floor at first until I put some straw in the boxes and made the eggs visible, now I have 2 in 1 box!🤣🤣
