I am thinking of a remodel of my interior. I am going to place my roost bar (2" x 4" x 14") to run down the middle of my coop near the apex of the roof.

I am thinking of building a conveyor poop board right underneath it and have it dump outside my end door into a wagon.

Thoughts?

The biggest problem I see is the width of the coop ... IIRC it is only 3', right?

If so ... that would put the roost in the middle at 18" from the edge, minus the width of the actual roost ... most poop boards are 18"-24" wide ... place that 6"-10" under the roost ... now there is only 6"-9" on each edge between the poop board and the wall ... substitute "poop-board" with "poop-belt" ...

How are the chickens going to get up and down?

Also remember your chickens will continue to grow until after they are a year old, but will slow down by the 6 month mark ...

Why does the poop board need to be so wide?

Why does the poop board need to be so wide?

Well ... take a full grown large fowl chicken ... put it on a roost ... how far off center of the roost is its vent? ... since the poop doesn't just drop straight down ... it will have a "trajectory" ;) Then figure in how important it is to you to collect 100%?

Then add in the unpredictability of a chicken to always face the same way ...

Here is your weekend reading assignment ;) https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/show-me-your-poop-boards.1287739/
