Cool and aloof ducks

Hey everyone! Our ducks are being super weird today. One disappeared for most of the day. She reappeared after several hours. They all love my husband. They even start quacking if they hear him in the house. He went outside to give them their daily peas, and they'd have nothing to do with him. Wouldn't follow, eat out of his hand-nothing. He's devastated.

How old are they? I've heard they can go through a teenager stage. My adult pekins act strangely some times.

My runner is about a year, and the calls hatched last spring. Turns of the one that disappeared has a nest

Yep the old hide the nest routine. lol

As for the others acting off could a predator be lurking around and it has them scared?

Do you lock them into a Run at night?
Possibly they thought he was going to put them away?
They might of been too busy for him...

I was a little worried about predators. Oir yard is pretty dog proof, but we have had the occasional hawk. Not much I can do about that. Sigh
