DH and I were in Home Depot today and I found a cool flashlight that is great as a candler...$8.97....a Mini Maglite.

The thing that makes it different is it has a 'no roll' rubber attachment that you slip onto the top. This fits directly onto the end of the egg so it directs the light right into the egg... perfect! I was so jazzed when I saw it!

I was wondering if a mag lite would work. I don't have any hatching eggs yet. But I have a 6D maglite I swear I can see the bones in my hand with!

em, i'm using a torch that use 5 led to produce light. i buy it Rp.21000 or about US$2 and it works very good since it produced cool and very bright light.

I got some 9 LED flashlights at Autozone, up by the register, for either $2.99 or $3.99, I forget which. They work great when the batteries are fresh. (AAA's) I use rechargable batteries, so I just make sure to have a set with a fresh charge ready to go on the dates I want to candle.

The batteries don't last long with these, so the rechargables are really a money saver.

I want to look for that no-roll rubber attachment, though. I could use a new mini-mag, too.
