There are some really amazing places around the world, whether in your state or in a different country. It doesn't have to be somewhere you've visited recently, but show us some of the cool places you have been! What about this place makes it so interesting? What was your experience like at this place?

I'll start us off!
We visited the Pioneer Museum in Troy, AL and really loved it. I have to say, the Apollo "Moon Tree" was one of my favorite things to see. Beautiful cabins, and the interior of the museum housed so many important tools to the pioneers and Native Americans who shapes Alabama's history.

The Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum in Chattanooga, Tennessee was such an amazing place. About two years ago we went on the double-header steam engine trip pulled by the beautiful 4501 pictured here. After learning the history of this train and its restoration, just seeing this locomotive in person was really neat.

places i have visited?

to start off with, only been to Manitoba, Alberta and BC (i live in Saskatchewan).
really enjoyed the mountains in BC and Alberta.

been to the states 3 times in my life. north Dakota, Montana and Florida.
the coolest thing i saw while in Florida had to be the palm trees, not sure why but loved them. maybe cause we don't got any in Canada.

Thanks for sharing!

Being a history buff I enjoyed my visit. Full of displays I'd never seen before. Also enjoyed the military museum. It is a must see for anyone interested in the region's history.

I last travelled before the pandemic. My stepmother and I went to Gran Canaria. It was January, so definitely off-season, but a lovely break from Vermont’s below-zero temperatures and lack of sunlight!

My brother lives in Osaka, Japan. I was able to finally visit him 3 years ago.

Edited to add: None of the photographs are from Osaka.

Regarding the above: What made it so interesting? It was far out of my comfort zone. My life has taken me around to many different places, but those places have otherwise been limited to European countries and the U.S. In Japan, I felt a bit helpless as my prior attempts at learning the language completely failed. Heading out on my own to visit a museum or somewhere else that required me to navigate the public transport system was nerve-wracking. Will I end up where I meant to or in a completely different prefecture? :idunno

Beyond that, it was HOT! We spent all day every day walking/hiking in 95+ degree temperatures in direct sunlight. My brother, being acclimatized to it, wasn’t bothered, and trucked right along. My stepmother and I, coming from cold weather, struggled.
