we had a GHO @ the vet.clinic.he was unreleasable so he lived there for years.there were several occasions where he would miss the glove and clamp on our arms.we had to pry him off.he loved store bought chicken.someone once gave him a yard chicken and he just looked at it like "can someone clean this thing first".i know chicken folks hate to see them (including me)but they are a awesome.

At least it was just a plucking and no wounds.


I was really thinking that the pet shepard had come back and was terrorizing them or a raccoon but never would I have imagined an great big owl goin through the pop door and joinin my flock. geesh, It was such a surprise.

Countin my lucky stars now and worried about the days to come....sigh, like I don't have enough to worry about.

Just had my 4 year old with a procedure at the hospital yesterday under anesthesia...checking her kidneys...I've got my own health concerns, heart...and in the middle of one of those nasty things we call divorce...ugh shutter.

But all in all...I was actually really enthoused about seeing him sooo up close. I saw him perching and shut the door and ran back inside the house and grabbed my dd's camera...thinking on the way back...maybe most people wouldn't do this because he could go back to insulting my chickens.
