Coop and Garden plan

We're trying our best to get it all done but the other half is working a lot plus we had a boatload of rain this past week. I'll get out there and take some pics this weekend if the sun comes out, aart! Happy constructing, rugz! I'll check that site out, thanks!

Might want to consider putting the compost bin near the coop/run. Mine is next to my coop and it's so easy to scoop up the poop in the am and toss it in the compost!

Looking great rugz! On a separate note I love your wood edging on the left of the bottom pic! We have put the coop on hold while my folks have been visiting from England, and instead working on the garden which is all planted up now thanks to my super mom! Here's a few pics....

My helper, Pumba...

The little boxes have different herbs in them.

A couple of orange trees, too. The blossoms have just started opening and they smell divine!

Some white jasmine around the bench, for more nice smells...

The coop, or what we have so far, is just off the side of the garden. Everything is protected by chicken wire to keep out the cats and other beasties. This was a lot of work to weld up the frames etc, but it means that I can let the chooks out of the coop and run if I want to without worrying that they'll decimate my garden!

Happy gardening folks, I hope your weather is as nice as ours!

Nice!! But....how will you tend your plants?

Cheers! On the veg 'houses', the sides are permanent, but the front and back can be opened completely. There is a piece of cane at the bottom on the opening sides that tucks under a screw for security, but un-tucked, you can peel back the whole side up to the peak of the roof shape for access. Likewise on all the other planters, but only the front opens on them as I dont need to reach as far.
