Hi All,
I'm really struggling with finding good coop and run plans for our future chicks coming this spring.
I an in zone 8 in South Carolina and we have 12 chicks ordered.
I have at least an acre of flat pasture that I thought would be perfect for a tractor type setup, but struggling to find good plans for a portable coop and run for 12 hens. I was originally planning to build the green willow mega A-frame plan, but have some concerns about the size and ventilation for our climate. This is roughly a 4x8 coop with a 8x10 run in A-frame style. I think I could improve the ventilation with a vented roof cap, but not much I can do to make it bigger.
I've also looked at some coop and hoop designs like this, but not finding any specific plans, so a little lost on the build details.
I could probably wing it and do alright.
Aesthetics are somewhat important to us, but we also don't want to spend a fortune.
Would you all recommend a stationary coop over a mobile? Just seems like a waste to not let our chickens use all the land we have available.
Thanks!
