Just wanted to introduce myself , Billy White 51 yr old what started out last year as a small project to keep busy has turned into a Full Blown love for Chickens ,wife only allowed me to get 4 maybe 5 at most . That lasted less than a week 49 as of now with 8 being shipped Feb 11 and 12 more already ordered for March lol
I have some of all different breeds, but slowly moving over to Bantam Cochins up to 17 of those with the other 20 coming being same breed just different colors.
Ok about me I have always been in the Oilfield 28 yrs with last 10 yrs being Overseas in China, Isreal and Singapore . And in 2022 I was in a Very Bad wreck while on my motorcycle headed to college where I was ran over from behind and pushed , drug almost a 1/4 mile down hwy. I had
2 TBI
Crushed Pelvis that had to be Rebuilt with Rods, Plates and Screws
Collapsed lung
Broke Hip
5 Holes in my head
And Road rash everywhere, it happen on April 4th well on the 20th they talk to my wife and told her I would never come back and was Brain Dead.
The 21st her and my kids came to have a meeting with doctors about taking me off Life Support the following morning , but I Guess God wasn’t done with me yet and when they came by to see me before meeting my eyes were open following them around room. After they seen this they demanded more test and once the results came in it showed I had some brain activity now. So taking me off Life Support was canceled .
Well fast forward 5 months and 3 Hospitals later I was finally able to come home . I am still adjusting to stuff I can’t do any longer but I am above ground so that’s Great .
If I knew chickens were this much Fun and Helped so much to keep me busy I would have started buying them while still in Hospital . I am Fully Disabled now and they are my piece and quiet time . I stayed very mad at guy that Ran me over for first 2 yrs till I got into chickens and they have really helped calm me down from being so mad all the time at the guy which I have still never heard a word from ,Oh well God will judge him . But just wanted to make a post inducing myself and telling a little about me .i plan on doing a lot of breeding and hatching eggs this year God willing ,mainly concentrating on my

And I am sure I am forgetting some , I have fell in Love with Pretty Chickens. If they happen to lay Good that’s great but Pretty is my first goal I am after
Oh yea 2 days after my Wreck I became a Grandfather for the first time and I always say God gave me him to help save me . He has always thought paw paw hung the moon and is great Help around the chickens with me. I will share two photos I got of him this Summer watering the plants next to the Big Coop I thought was So funny
