As large as you can with a minimum our 4 sq ft inside the coop per bird and 10 sq ft in the run....... not such thing as too much space, and "extra" space allows for adding more birds when you get addicted

Basic rule is 4 square feet per chicken in the coop, minimum, ten square feet / chicken in their pen. More is obviously better.

In addition to how many, what kind of chickens are they? Bantam? Middle size? Large...?
