Coop bedding and windows?

Can you post pics of your coop? It sounds like you don't have any ventilation there besides the door, I'm wondering if they're hanging out by the door cause the air's fresher? Chickens need a LOT of airflow. Also, what part of the country are you in?

Bobbi-j on here uses wheat straw for bedding and likes it, she has it for free so that's a bonus. Personally, I like shavings better as I think they're more absorbant, but if I had straw cheap or free I'd probably use that cause I'm a tightwad

I put photos on here somewhere, but haven't taken any since I added the vent holes yesterday, I'm going to put a 4x4 in semi near the door to see if that helps them 'roost. The vent holes are on either end of the roost pole that's in there.
 

near the peak of the roof cap on the north and south side there's 3 each vent holes. this is on the east side of the big barn so afternoon shaded, photo here is early morning. We've had a bunch of wind and it has been from hot to cold the last couple weeks, going to be hot again next week , around 95.
