Coop bottom Out of Wire?

I was watching this video and they used wire for the bottom of the inside of the coop where they sleep. Can't that be bad for their feet? Curious...

 
I've read that a wire floor shouldn't be used with heavier breeds (like barred rocks), but that it is OK with lighter breeds. The wire in the video looks rather sturdy, maybe the spacing is OK. Me, I don't plan to find out if wire is or is not OK for the floor, I'll just clean regularly. (I'm still building).
 
broody's on wire floor, they have no place to nest comfortably and there is a draft from the wire floor if its above ground.

I use wire over a shelf under my roost so they can't get into their roost poop but its not something they stand or even climb on and leaves more floor space in the coop.
