I am so glad your girls are ok and that the damage was contained. Fire is one of things I am really paranoid about. It drives my hubby nuts, but I witnessed a neighbor's barn go up as a kid. That image of my dad and the men running horses out of the flames won't go away. So I worry a little obsessively about it and am happy when there is a good outcome to these accidents. I bet the girls were awful happy to see Mom to the rescue!

Oh my goodness, I am sorry you had to go thru that, it would be anyone's nightmare. So glad you were able to save your chicks and that your house had so little damage.

Glad you were safe and the chickens were safe too! Phew!

That is why I NEVER heat outside for the adult chicks. AND I no longer use heat infrared lights, just a simple light bulb for my chicks.

Something must have either dropped the lamp onto the bedding or water splashed on it.

It could have been at lot worse if you weren't home. Hope the chickens stay healthy, and that your husband doesn't get to much ribbing from the guys at the firehouse.
Fire is a scary thing.
