Coop cameras????

Here is a photo of the USB camera inside the back of the Roll Out Nest Box Mk3. I'm waiting on some 12v red LED side markers to use for light in the nest box. I have a LED flashlight in there this morning just for fun. By the time I had the first photo processed there was a second egg in the box.

That's cool! I'm going to try to get at least one camera up today. Reviewing drill bits I have right now, and wondering where all the good ones went.

I have partial installation. Cameras up in coop and barn, wires strung part way. Part way because i underestimated the distance needed, now I'll need to splice. Here's hoping that doesn't trash the image quality.

You can get couplings for the RJ45 end (the one that plugs into the DVR) then add another Ethernet cable.

Found them no problem. Things are up.
However, this system states clearly the cables can be extended to 148. They mean that. I added 100 ft to the included 98 and no picture. Tested with 100+50 and 100+30, both worked fine. So I have to go get shorter cables than the 100's. What a PITA.

Always something! Haven't tested the fancy features yet, gotta get good connections first.

Yea it's always something... Ethernet can go 100 meters I guess they are using USB and just using a RJ45 plug. At least you can get an extra 50'. Can't wait to see the first photo.

I just ordered a Raspberry Pi Zero with a case that holds the RPi Camera. It should get here Tuesday. That will be a much more compact package for the Nest Box camera. I also ordered a USB power supply so it will be totally wireless.
