Coop Color Help Needed

Color choices are so personal. I would hate to even begin to try to sway you with my unorthodox color choices :) Colors on a computer screen can vary so much too. It makes it difficult to know what the color of the tan that you are using is biased towards red, blue or green. Daylight affects how colors meld together or oppose each other. It can be maddening!

Are you going to go with a stain or a paint? It looks like you are leaning towards a stain for the other parts of the coop. I like either a dark green or a nice barn red hue to go with the color that you started with, but I am not a decorator. Actually I might use both with one just for the coop door or a prominent focal point. Buy pints though to test out your choices. It is cheaper as a rule. Neutral cool or bright color scheme is where I generally start to determine the color palette I am going for and then I change that multiple times. I am not help. Sorry. You will find your footing. Just don't rush it or feel like that you have to make a choice. If you feel rushed you will never be happy.

I finally settled on the colors. The frame is that tan/taupe color with a few light green braces. The purlins and rafters are going to be teal. Here's what I've done so far...

Looks good so far. I like the blue. One thing you might want to consider is that paint lasts much longer and seems to protect better than stain, even using preservative stuff. At least for me it does.
