Thank You, I live in Wisconsin and we are getting freezing rain and snow tonight! I just can't wait for spring to get out and enjoy my chickies.

I love this thread because I started painting my coop the same time it started. I am thinking now that painting is a pain! I've sweet-talked my DBF into finishing the prime. I love all the ideas posted here. I'm doing a 3 color scheme: Sweet Mustard, Grass green roof and trim, Victorian Rose trim. I will post pics when it's finished

Well mine has not been painted on the inside yet and the outside is all naturale with a burgundy metal roof, 3 windows, double barns doors and a people door but I will be building some smaller bantam coops and duck houses soon...so all the painting gets done at once. I have pens to build inside, runs to build but for the temporary, everyone free ranges during the day and goes inside at night.

With us having 70 degree weather right now and knowing it won't last long, I jumped in and started building 4 new small coops.

A very small one, 2x4x2 is gray and orange. Two bigger ones, 2x8x4 are going to be peach with orange trim and the other is going to be baby blue with medium blue trim and the other, which is actually a tractor, is just going to be gray with black trim.

Here is my orange and gray one. I put it together today except for the roofing. The roof is orange, too except the glare hit it but it will be hidden under the roofing material anyhow.

This is before I put the top on it. The orange bar is the roosting pole. The nest box will go in the front corner.

This one is for bantam Cochins. It is only 12" off the ground but I will have a block for them to jump up on and into the coop. I would put shavings in but they just kick them all out even with a lip over the doorway. I probably will do that anyhow since I will put shavings in the nest box.
I still have some work to do on it but I like it pretty good.

Here is a better shot of the roosting pole. It is 7" above the floor.

The old coop... got a face lift... we added a new larger yard and adding colorful siding... the hens approve!
